Three Projects, One Vision: Advancing A Circular Energy Future 🌍
On June 26, 2025, the Crusade Project will join forces with SOLMATE Horizon Europe and FORESi in a dynamic online Clustering Workshop focused on shaping the future of circularity in the PV panel and EV battery value chains.
Organised by the impactful SOLMATE Horizon Europe, coordinated by VITO, this 1-hour online event brings together an emerging European innovation ecosystem of more than 40 organisations dedicated to improving resource efficiency and reducing critical raw material dependency.
The workshop will include:
✅ Presentation of the objectives, innovations and key challenges of each project
✅ A focus on the reuse of components and recycling of materials from PV panels and EV batteries
✅ Discussions to foster synergies between projects
✅ Exploration of both supply and demand-side perspectives on critical raw materials
✅ Open dialogue for future clustering and potential policy input
During the opening session the coordinator of the CRUSADE project, Dr. Iakovos Yakoumis, Founder and CEO of Monolithos Catalysts & Recycling Ltd., will make a presentation, offering a glimpse into our mission and contributions to sustainable innovation.

• Bottlenecks in sorting and recovery
• Certification and regulatory frameworks
• Market-driven strategies and circular business models
