German SME company, founded in 1995 with its primary target to constitute the consumer battery recycling market in Germany. Within this project, ACCUREC focus on battery recycling from the end-of-life vehicles, especially for the dismantling and pre-procesing of battery packs in order to maxmizing the recycabilities and circular economy impact.

Advent Technologies
Advent develops and manufactures next-generation fuel cell systems and components for the renewable energy sector. Their efficient fuel cells operate under extreme conditions and are multi-fuel capable, using hydrogen, e-methanol, e-fuels, and natural gas. Headquartered in Boston, Advent has offices in California, Greece, Denmark, and the Philippines. In CRUSADE, Advent provides end-of-life HT-PEM MEAs for recycling and validates the recycled HT-PEM MEAs.

Aimen Technology Centre
AIMEN Technology Centre, a national and European leader in advanced manufacturing, digital technologies, smart systems, and recycling, provides specialized services to the industry. In CRUSADE, AIMEN develops an object identification and material analysis module for automated sorting of EoL vehicle parts using vision and LIBS systems with machine learning algorithms.

AKKODIS
AKKODIS is an SME specializing in blockchain technology services, providing solutions for efficient logistics networks, material traceability, and transparent systems across value chains. In the CRUSADE project, AKKODIS will develop the Blockchain Tracing Platform, creating a tokenized digital identity for each material component collected during the recycling process. Additionally, AKKODIS will implement Autonomous Data Acquisition Gates (ADAGs) at each recycling step, enabling real-time, decentralized data collection without requiring a central authority. This system will ensure material traceability, monitor process efficiency, and enhance data security throughout the recycling chain.

B.F.C. SISTEMI SRL
BFC Sistemi is a company dedicated to technological progress and the development of efficient systems, with a strong emphasis on environmental protection and safety. The company's commitment to innovation is bolstered through collaborations with research institutes and universities. In the CRUSADE project, BFC will focus on testing the leaching of metals from printed circuit boards (PCBs) and will utilize advanced characterization techniques, such as ICP-MS/OES, XRF, SEM-EDX, and XRD, to provide precise insights into the metal content and phases of the recovered materials.

CNR-ITAE
The Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR) is Italy's public research organization with 7 departments and 8000 employees. The Institute for Advanced Energy Tecnologies "Nicola Giordano" (ITAE) focuses on innovative energy processes. In CRUSADE, CNR leads Task 8.1, benchmarking PGM-based catalysts for fuel cells and autocatalysts, manufacturing new electrocatalysts, and providing input to LCA activities in Task 8.4.

CRF
"CRF, an affiliate of Stellantis N.V. Group, focuses on promoting innovation and competitiveness in automotive products. We prioritize R&D in electrification, sustainability, and safety. In CRUSADE, CRF will collect End of Life components and validate recycled materials in WP8, ensuring environmentally and economically sustainable solutions.

EIT Raw Materials
EIT RawMaterials drives innovation, education, and entrepreneurship in Europe's raw materials sector. Through collaboration and investment, it promotes a circular, green, and digital economy while enhancing global competitiveness and securing employment. EIT RawMaterials leads the European Raw Materials Alliance (ERMA) to support Europe's transition towards sustainability.

Entelos Institute
Entelos Institute leads data-driven innovations, pioneering advanced sorting and separation technologies for the CRUSADE project. Using automated sorting units with multispectral and spectroscopic solutions, Entelos enhances material recovery efficiency. Machine learning algorithms optimize the identification and classification of high-value metals in end-of-life products.

Ford Otosan
FO, with the largest automotive R&D in Turkey, has 2000+ engineers. It's Ford's global center for heavy commercial vehicles and light commercial vehicle tech. In CRUSADE, FO provides waste NMC battery cells for recycling and leads WP8, coordinating material validation and performing life-cycle assessments.

HATCH Kuettner
Hatch Küttner, part of the Canadian Hatch Group, focuses on Non-Ferrous, Iron and Steel, Energy, and Environmental industries. We engineer, erect, and commission pilot plants, develop flow sheets and PIDs, and provide equipment lists based on partner-provided process models. Our mission is to passionately pursue positive change for a better world.

KU LEUVEN
SOLVOMET, KU Leuven’s Circular Hydrometallurgy Research and Innovation Centre, supports companies in sustainable process development using advanced lab and mini-pilot facilities. Our mission: eco-friendly processes for critical metals. In CRUSADE, KU Leuven leads WP6, developing PGM recovery technologies.

MONOLITHOS Catalysts and Recycling Ltd
MONOLITHOS Catalysts and Recycling Ltd is an industrial SME based in Greece, specializing in the production of advanced catalytic materials for automotive, naval, energy, and tire applications. The company is also pioneering efforts in the recycling and recovery of critical raw materials (CRMs) from secondary sources, such as automotive catalysts, permanent magnets from electric motors, fuel cells, electrolyzers, and electric vehicle batteries. With extensive experience in coordinating and participating in numerous funded research projects, MONOLITHOS serves as the coordinator of the CRUSADE project. The company has developed a patented single-step hydrometallurgical process, which will be optimized for various material feeds and enhanced by microwave assistance to improve extraction efficiency and reduce processing times. MONOLITHOS will also be responsible for the engineering, procurement, and implementation of the CRUSADE recycling unit, which will be installed at the MONOLITHOS' premises.

Re-Battery
Re-Battery SA manages hazardous waste from Pb, Li-ion, and Ni-MH batteries as a Collective Alternative Management System. Established in 2011, it's renewed for 2020-2025. With over 13 years of operation, it has managed 150,000+ tons of battery waste. Re-Battery SA follows ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015 standards, supervised by Re.DePlan SA. Its network includes 270 producers/importers and 138 facilities for collection, storage, and recycling.

SE&C IKE, a forward-thinking SME, specializes in sustainable development research across Energy, Environment, Transport, ICT, Tourism, and Urban Mobility. Known for high-quality engineering research and business services, it offers Project Management, Life Cycle Analysis, and Communication & Design support. SE&C IKE leads WP9 in CRUSADE, focusing on business case analysis and go-to-market strategy development, leveraging market analysis and pilot project data.

Sunlight
Sunlight, a tech firm, provides innovative energy storage solutions, specializing in lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries. Within Crusade, it's tasked with collecting and provisioning LFP battery cells for project needs and establishing a collection network. Sunlight leverages raw materials from recycling processes to manufacture and evaluate lithium-ion cells.

Treee
Treee, an Italian industrial group, specializes in the logistics and treatment of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). They offer expert services in collection, treatment, recycling, and reuse of WEEE. In the CRUSADE project, Treee leads WP3, focusing on EoL component sorting and will supply automotive PCBs for pilot operations.

TU Bergakademie Freiberg
TUBAF at the Institute of Nonferrous Metallurgy and Purest Materials (INEMET) focuses on sustainable, innovative methods to rethink production processes and waste handling for a circular economy and zero-waste. Partnering with CRUSADE, we enhance and develop pyro- and hydrometallurgy processes to recover critical raw materials from spent auto-components, aiming for a greener future.
