DATA4CIRC
DATA4CIRC (Data-driven AI-assisted digital framework for enhancing circularity in manufacturing) is a Horizon Europe project promoting circular value chains in the manufacturing sector with the aim of improving data exchange and product traceability and thereby reducing environmental impact. The project coordinators, Idener.ai, based in Sevilla, Spain lead the development and validation of the project’s digital tools and platform. The project’s 12 European partners, plus the University of Osaka, Japan, as associated partner, are working to develop a platform for the secure and trustworthy pooling and sharing of data across manufacturing data spaces, alongside a set of digital tools to enable enhanced modelling and monitoring along the entire value chain. Furthermore, the project will formulate circular business models which prioritise the needs, expectations, and experiences of end-users. An upskilling and reskilling training programme will be designed and conducted to facilitate the uptake of digital tools in the manufacturing workforce. Validation and demonstration of the DATA4CIRC platform will be achieved via its application in three use cases (establishing a new circular value chain for the recycling of agricultural plastics; expanding an existing circular value chain for the reuse and refurbishment of Waste Electronics & Electrical Equipment (WEEE); and, exploitation of an existing circular value chain for the recovery of platinum group metals from automotive catalytic converters).
